RUMInation is a sincere effort to tell the stories of old Persia and her surroundings, through Poetry & Music as has been passed down for generations. It finds resonance in contemporary hearts and minds as the themes of seeking one’s Self are timeless and just as relevant today as during the time of Rumi and other great mystics!
Attending a Rumination concert (Ibn Battuta: Journey of a Nomad) was like embarking on a soothing journey through time, where Arabic, Indian, and Persian music blended skillfully and seamlessly with history in a friendly yet captivating atmosphere. Rumination melodies are relaxing, transporting you to another era, while the storytelling adds depth and richness to the experience. In a world that often feels divided, Rumination is a beautiful reminder of the power of culture and music to bring people together; a much needed meaningful and unforgettable experience.
Rumination is a curator of magical event of musical extravaganza rich in culture and history. I consider myself lucky to have been able to attend a few concerts showcased by them. Every concert has left me spell bound.
Each performance was a journey, transporting us to different corners of the globe, and evoking a deep sense of connection to traditions both ancient and modern. The musicians’ skill and dedication were evident in every piece, and their ability to communicate emotion through music was truly remarkable.
I have had the privilege of witnessing nearly every Rumination experience, and the growth of this project has been nothing short of extraordinary. The poetry readings, with their deep sensitivity, paired with the profound sounds of the Persian setar spoke directly to my heart, but it’s the first show I’ll never forget: with my eyes closed most of the performance, I was transported on an inner profound journey of emotion, sense, and sound. The wisdom of Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi, Rumi echoed in every note played and every word spoken. Later on, the musical fusion blending Indian, Syrian, Lebanese and other influences was an exceptional addition. Even now, if I close my eyes, I can still feel the sensations they created. Rumination couldn’t be better represented than by Sam and Khalil, I am sure Rumi is smiling down with pride.
Rumination is truly a one-of-a-kind experience—a rare blend of culture, music, and storytelling. The master’s timeless words resonated so deeply with me, even after all these centuries. It was so moving, and I felt an incredible connection to his wisdom. Every performer on stage was a master of their craft, I felt like I was taken back in time and entered a different world.
There were moments when I entered a meditative state, didn’t want to think or speak. At other times, I closed my eyes and listened to all the ethereal instruments or watched the graceful whirling dances.
If you are someone who loves culture, music, poetry, or is simply curious about diving into Rumi’s world, I highly, highly recommend this experience. Thank you Team Rumination for a very special experience.
یادم میاد بعد از سالهای دوری که رفت و آمدم زیاد بود و حتی ۱-۲ سالی هم زندگی کرده بودم دوباره تصمیم به مهاجرت گرفته بودم و اومدم دبی، توی حال و هوای ساختن بودم و روبراه کردن زندگیم.
توی اون روزها یکی از فامیلهامو شانسی دبی دیدم با دوستانش که معرفیشون کرد به من به عنوان هنرمندانی که در دبی کار موسیقی انجام میدن و اتفاقاً آرتیست گروه هم تازه اومده بود از ایران .
منم که برای سابقه کاری که داشتم سرم درد میکرد برای همکاری با گروه برای کار مدیا شون . گفتم خیلی هم خوب چه سبکی موسیقی کار میکنین ، که بهم گفتن سنتی … 🫤
منم قیافم رفت تو هم
نه تجربشو داشتم و نه اصلاً دوست داشتم 😔
ولی خوب چون به هر حال باید کار میکردم و نیاز مالی داشتم به توافق رسیدیم که با هم همکاری کنیم .
اولین روزی که کنسرت رومینیشن را کار کردم نظرم به موسیقی سنتی تغییر کرد و دیدم سبک خاصی از سنتی هم میتونه جذاب باشه و علاقمند شدم
و این شد که دوستان دوستداشتنی به جمع دوستام اضافه شدند و در کنارشون از صدای خوش تار و ۳ تار، دکلمه آرامش بخش سمانه و اوج صوت شیوای خلیل شیخ لذت دنیا رو بردم.
